PBT Material Properties - Polybutylene Terepthalate

PBT Material Summary

PBT is a tough plastic that is impact and abrasion resistant, similar to Nylon. In comparison, it is used in higher temperature applications and does not absorb moisture. It is commonly used as an electrical insulator, in gears and in bearings. It is UV resistant and will maintain it's mechanical strength over years of sun exposure.
